Demystifying the Copyright Conundrum: Literature Sharing, Open Access, and AI

Leap into the new year with a FREE informative virtual workshop for medical writers and editors across disciplines and experience levels!!

Have you ever asked yourself the following questions?
Can I freely share a journal article with a business colleague?
Can I freely share a subscription-only or paywalled article on social media?
Can I freely share material from a public social media page? If I wish to, is attribution required?
Can I freely use background music in a podcast?
Can I freely reproduce articles published by the US government?
Can I freely submit a journal article to a regulatory body?
Can I freely modify a published table or graphic to use in my journal article or other publication?
The answer to all these questions is "maybe," and depends wholly on how copyright permissions have been assigned. This interactive workshop will introduce the relevant basic principles of copyright and re-use permissions before delving into case-based scenarios based on real-life examples submitted by colleagues across the spectrum that are pertinent to anyone working in biomedical communications.  Copyright conundrums relative to open access publishing and artificial intelligence and the potential ramifications of copyright infringement, whether deliberate or unintentional, will also be discussed.

Join us for this highly interesting virtual session to learn from a true expert and stay after the program for some virtual networking! Register today!!
